Scriptures for Encouragement

Lift up the word of god in payer.
Rom 8:31 "If God be for us, who can be against us?
2Tim 1:13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus.
Col 3:2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
Mark 9:23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.
Josh 1:9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Rom 8:18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
Rom 8:37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Rom 8:39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together* for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
2Tim 4:5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.
Phil 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ,* who gives me strength.
1Jn 4:4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
Phil 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

Be Kind To One Another when you are out and about

I have been thinking a lot lately about being “kind to one another”, it is as if we are not being kind now but it is being more aware of Acts of Kindness and Spur of the Moment, Random Acts of Kindness. Many people are rude & self-centered, worried about themselves and not worried very much about others. In Galatians 5:22 it says; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

The following is an example of a Random Acts of Kindness.
"I’m a 46-year-old woman, divorced, with 3 grown children. After several months of chemotherapy following a mastectomy for breast cancer, I was starting to put my life back together when my doctor called with the results of my last checkup. They had found more cancer, & I was devastated. "My relatives had not been supportive. They tried to be kind, but I had the feeling they were afraid that it was contagious. They called on the phone to see how I was doing, but kept their distance. And that really hurt. "Last Saturday I headed for the Laundromat. While taking my laundry out of the car, I looked up & saw a man, one of the regulars, leaving with his bundle. He smiled & said, ‘Good morning. How are you today?’ Suddenly I lost control of myself & blurted out, ‘This is the worst day of my life! I have more cancer!’ Then I began to cry. "He put his arms around me & just let me sob. Then he said, ‘I understand. My wife has been through it, too.’ After a few minutes I felt better, stammered out my thanks, & proceeded on with my laundry. "About 15 minutes later, here he came back with his wife. Without saying a word, she walked over & hugged me. Then she said, ‘I’ve been there, too. Feel free to talk to me. I know what you’re going through.’ I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. Here was this total stranger, taking her time to give me emotional support & courage to face the future at a time when I was ready to give up.
Ephesians 4: 32a - Be kind to each other; Kindness is the sign of a loving heart; one of the greatest of all virtues. A kind person is pleasant, good, gracious-always appreciated. God is our model for kindness. God also showers us with kindness each day, sending sunshine and rain, food and friends, comfort and encouragement and boundless love and wisdom.
